Test for a future series project, I try to make a very academic portrature, with Vermeer-like lighting , some this official, simple,moody , like renaissance painting in 1500, not sur if i archive ( i think not totally) btw any help, critic are wellcome

Since you asked for critique..... Too bright, too sharp and too much contrast for a Vermeer. Your "front light" on the left side is so strong it's racking the skin and pushing up slight bumps that a renaissance effect would blend. Too red in the shadow of the cheek against the yellow/gold tones in the highlight. Gold is the way to go. Pink, less so. Same on the lips. The most successful part is the blouse and the sweater. Both meet the ideal of your intention. Lighting and tone on the background is excellent. I understand why you have a defined and visibly sharp background, but it would be interesting to compare against a treatment in which the pattern is moved out of focus slightly by just an f stop.
