A stranger, Francois 67. by BenoitPaille A stranger, Francois 67. by BenoitPaille

I often walked in front of his house, always intrigued by his apartment filled with millions objects. I decided to knock on his door, to meet the man and his environment. His name is François, he is 67 years old and he made the vietnam war in 72 according to his words.

it don't seem natural... this photo. he looks stiff, unrelaxed, more like a statue. i like the other one better, even if that one's staged also.
chaotic enterier reminds me of them hidden object games. :D

With all those images of strangers (what they are mostly for us) you show so much private things in such a nice way without showing to much or to little. Just something to think about. And to see the differences. Great work!

yes, you are allways full of courage to do things like this. Id never be brave enough.

I love the composition and the way everything looks so very still ans peacefull.

His hands clash well with the cabinets and the rest of the yellow tinted room.

This is truely great.

This is a gorgeous picture. His character is so cool.

I like how you picked this room. Kitchens are one of the few places that are very telling of a person, one of the few rooms that can be viewed as the sum of you by what it contains and how it's arranged. The clutter and odds and ends in here are! I can't even describe. And you got him in the middle of all of that.

The lighting and tone of it is great. Very...toned down and vibrant at the same time. Gritty or realistic, sharp I guess.

Anyway, I often wonder about people and stop just short of knocking on their doors, so I think it's fantastic that you did. The story added another dimension to what, normally, I would see as a posed piece.

I really appreciate people like you that see others by their lens... and showing people living in a different way, not being involved - whether by choice or necessity - in the rat race, commercialized world, because it is really hard for us to imagine that...
Great job, keep it up.
