Although the setting and pose are both very plain, they serve to emphasize the model and her outfit, almost to the point of fashion photography. The dark lighting is actually controlled quite well by still being bright enough to light up her face and reveal the textures in her clothing. At the same time, the darkness creates a mysterious atmosphere, like a long, quiet underpass road with the main street life above. In a sense, this is almost like a modern day, urban tribute to Little Red Riding Hood, hinting at the theme of vulnerable girls in red on perilous, dark journeys.
This is a really great photo. The contrast between her whole outfit and the surronding black really makes it pop. The deatils in this are astounding. And the fact that its just a random stranger makes it a verry cool peice. I like how the persons expression looks a bit confused and off gaurd. Like you just ran up and snapped a photo. The only problem I have that is I think the lighting in this is a bit iffy. Otherwise Besides that, i think this was a good idea all together to say the least. . Keep doing what you do best deary.
This may sound stupid but how do you do these photos? I mean do you just go up to them and ask or do you do something else? what do you do if you find the perfect child model to photograph but get harrased after by the parents even if you have the childs permission? i find it hard to take photos of people because i do not wish to cause anyone to get angry at me, but your work is just stunning. i prefer taking photos of nature cus nature can't hate you, it can't harm you and it can't try and destroy your camera. sorry for ranting but your photos are really good maybe i can learn to not be scared to approach people like this.
